Asheville growing in popularity and want...

My friend Margie Casey called me today to catch up. She writes and reads about mountain communities and communities in general here in North Carolina as well as other states. Whenever I hear from her I find that I hear news that has not found my ears or eyes. So, today she tells me Asheville made it on Barron's list.
Do you know Barron?
Well as per Barron's site..."Barron's is America's premier financial weekly, the most sophisticated consumer magazine of its type. Its readership encompasses individual investors, institutional investors, financial professionals and senior corporate decision-makers."
So when someone tells you that Barron selected the TOP 10 CITIES FOR LUXURY HOMES then as a Broker, Builder, Investor all ears and eyes want to know more.
Barron's is actually part of the Wall Street Journal's digital network. Exciting stuff...I know!

It appears that Asheville is in with places like Maui, Hawai. How about that? Or even The Hamptons. The internet is a funny thing. The most useful information and the most unseful information all one click away from each other. A wise one once told me that evindence can be found to prove any point. So if I wanted to prove the point that Asheville is as great as Maui, Kiawah, The Hamptons, Park City and the like then go to Barrons and save the search. Well I'll save you the search I'll give you the link:

I have to say I was impressed since my zip code today is 28806 (Tha's Asheville zip code for those in others). But to be honest I think the reality is found in the voices of people that live and love Asheville. I've lived and loved in and around Asheville for over 18 years. A city girl from Miami who found that the outdoors is way cooler than the indoors. That a bannana sandwich while on an epic mountain bike ride is better than any table linnened with class. That the Smokies is friendly enough to find the real you and then show you what "awe" is really about. So ask a local. I'm glad and not so glad about the article. Glad that it means something to someone and not so glad because it makes us have an obligatory awe as opposoed to an organic one.
Visit Asheville and live in Asheville because it whispers to your soul not Barron's.
See you in the woods,
Jackie Cure
...and don't forget if you got here because of Barron make sure you stay here because of YOU. Come look around for land or a farm and find the outdoors inside you. Build your mountain dream in Asheville or just outside its many communities like Waynesville, Hendersonville, Sylva, Marshall, Burnsville, Weaverville, Black Mountain, Morganton, Saluda, Zirconia and ohhh so many more.
